Sommelier

Corinthia Rome is preparing to open its doors, bringing a new level of luxury hospitality to the heart of the Eternal City.

As we build an exceptional Food & Beverage team, we are looking for a passionate and highly skilled Sommelier to elevate the guest experience through outstanding wine service and expert recommendations.

Key Responsibilities:

As Sommelier, you will be responsible for ensuring an impeccable wine experience throughout the guest journey, including:

Supervising and managing wine service during restaurant operations
Advising guests on food & wine pairings based on the menu and individual preferences
Performing wine service according to the restaurant’s operational standards
Ensuring proper wine storage and preservation (temperature control, rotation, stock management)
Training and supporting the front-of-house team on service techniques and wine knowledge
Collaborating with the Restaurant Manager and Executive Chef to curate consistent and inspired pairings
Contributing to the creation of tailored wine experiences such as tastings and pairing journeys
Maintaining the highest standards of hospitality, professionalism, and attention to detail

Requirements

To thrive in this role, you should have:

Proven experience as a Sommelier in high-end or comparable dining environments
Strong knowledge of oenology, viticulture, and professional wine service techniques
Excellent communication skills and a strong guest-service mindset
Ability to work collaboratively and coach/train team members
High attention to detail and a genuine sense of hospitality
Fluency in Italian and English (additional languages are a plus)
Flexibility to work shifts, weekends, and holidays
