Area Manager, Mediterranean at ETG plays a key role in strengthening and maximising the performance of our hotel portfolio.
Your main focus will be maintaining strong relationships with hotel partners, driving their performance, and identifying opportunities to unlock additional growth. The role combines commercial acumen with a solid understanding of hotel systems and effective project management.
This vacancy is open to candidates residing in Portugal or Italy.

Job Responsibilities
Commercial Ownership

Own regional revenue targets across all Mediterranean markets
Drive performance in mature markets and growth in developing ones
Build and execute a clear regional strategy adapted to different market maturities
Balance revenue growth with margin and operational efficiency
Identify and prioritise high‑impact opportunities across the region

Contracting Portfolio

Ensure the right contract mix based on market maturity and demand
Strengthen relationships with key hotels and regional partners
Identify gaps in supply and lead targeted acquisition where needed
Continuously optimise portfolio performance and remove inefficiencies

Market Intelligence

Maintain deep understanding of Mediterranean markets and key destinations
Adapt strategy based on local market dynamics and demand trends
Monitor competitors, pricing, and distribution strategies
Identify risks early and act before performance is impacted

Team Leadership & Performance

Lead multiple regional teams across different markets and levels of maturity
Build clarity, structure and trust
Set clear KPIs and performance expectations
Drive accountability, pace and consistency across teams

Manage and develop leaders within the region
Take decisive action on underperformance

Revenue Activation

Drive activation and growth in newer or underdeveloped areas
Support optimisation of pricing, availability and competitiveness
Focus on scaling top‑performing partners while activating underperformers

Purchasing Governance

Balance revenue growth with cost control and operational efficiency
Maintain clear visibility and control over regional performance
Align regional execution with overall Direct Supply direction

Requirements

5‑7 years of successful experience in hotel contracting, travel distribution, or B2B travel sales
Proven experience managing a commercial team with full revenue accountability
Strong negotiation capability with independent hotels and regional chains
Demonstrated track record of delivering consistent revenue growth against defined targets
High level of commercial awareness, with the ability to interpret performance data and translate insights into strategic actions
Strong ability to manage internal and external stakeholders effectively
Experience operating in fast‑paced, target‑driven environments
Fluency in English is required; additional languages (Spanish, Italian, Turkish, Portuguese) are a big plus
