Technology Teacher

The Rome City School District is seeking an innovative and student-centered Technology Teacher for Strough Middle School. The successful candidate will engage students in hands-on learning experiences that develop problem-solving, critical thinking, creativity, and technological literacy. This educator will foster an engaging classroom environment where students explore technology concepts while building skills that prepare them for future academic and career opportunities.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Plan and deliver engaging technology education lessons aligned with the New York State Learning Standards.
  • Provide instruction in a variety of technology-related topics, including engineering design, manufacturing, robotics, coding, computer applications, and problem-solving, as appropriate to the curriculum.
  • Incorporate project-based learning and hands-on activities that encourage creativity and innovation.
  • Differentiate instruction to meet the diverse learning needs of all students.
  • Integrate technology tools to enhance student learning and engagement.
  • Foster a safe, organized, and inclusive classroom environment.
  • Assess student progress and provide timely, meaningful feedback.
  • Collaborate with colleagues, administrators, and families to support student success.
  • Maintain accurate records and fulfill all professional responsibilities in accordance with District policies.
  • Participate in faculty meetings, professional development, and school-wide initiatives.

Qualifications:

  • Valid New York State Technology Education certification (or eligibility for certification).
  • Strong classroom management and instructional skills.
  • Ability to create engaging, hands-on learning experiences.
  • Knowledge of current instructional technology and best practices in middle school education.
  • Excellent communication, collaboration, and organizational skills.
