The Mechanical Engineer 3 will report directly to the Senior Mechanical Engineering Manager. Job Description Primary Responsibilities New Product Development or upgrades or modifications to existing designs to comply with new requirements without direct design supervision. Develop new concepts and innovative designs. Utilize Solid Works modeling expertise Effectively communicate using latest technologies. Leadership and decision making Ensure designs are robust, meet minimum FoS requirements, are reliable.
Complete Risk Assessment of product and ensure safe design and compliance. Publish technical papers / White papers / Patents. Utilize the most current design techniques and tools. Designs and BOM's must be accurate. The standard is zero defect. Design project must be done in a timely manner. Design must be in compliance with all safety requirements. Design within specifications for the product being mindful of cost, manufacturability, reliability and service requirements.
Lead in commissioning and debug of products. Develop documentation and test to support performance of machine. Review/approve requests for changes, NCP's, RFD's, etc. Train others in proper operation, techniques, strategies Assure product is "as designed", proper revision control. Assure product meets specifications. Maintain a working knowledge of machine process and operation. Work in a team environment. Serve as mentor to new engineers and designers Interact with other departments, including Manufacturing, TSS, Sales and Purchasing.
Active participant in team meetings, design reviews, machine reviews, kick-off meetings. Job Requirements Education Bachelor's degree in Mechanical Engineering and 5 years relevant experience or 10 years relevant experience in machine design and proven performance. Skills & Relevant Work Experience AutoCAD and Solid Works proficiency required. Travel Requirements: up to 10% The pay range for this position is $100,000 - $120,000.
