Licensed Practical Nurse – Correctional Health
Valid New York State LPN license or limited permit required. BLS certification needed. Minimum of 1 year of experience in medical-surgical, ambulatory care, or mental health settings. Core clinical skills include medication administration (including controlled substances), vital signs, basic physical assessments, wound care/dressing changes, IM & SQ injections, NG/G-tube care, feeding tube management, Foley catheter care/insertions (male & female), oxygen administration, infection control/PPE, ambulation assistance, and basic ADL support.
Communicating status changes to RN/MD and emergency response composure required.
Candidate must clear the state-run Criminal History Form before starting (clearance can take up to 4 weeks). COVID-19 vaccine is required (medical exemptions only). Valid NY state license required at time of submission — no exceptions. Returning staff rule: must be off any facility in New York State for 2 years to return (per facility policy).
