Registered Nurse – Medical Surgical

Medical Surgical Nurse Opportunity

Seeking a skilled Medical Surgical Nurse to provide high-quality patient care in a hospital setting. The nurse must be flexible to float to Step Down units and meet all certification and experience requirements.

Responsibilities:

• Assess patient conditions and develop individualized care plans.
• Administer medications and manage cardiac drips with confidence.
• Read and interpret EKG strips to monitor cardiac health.
• Perform wound care and maintain IV therapy protocols.
• Float to step-down units as needed, ensuring seamless patient care transitions.
• Complete necessary CEUs and certifications prior to start date.

Qualifications:

• Hold a valid New York State nursing license.
• Possess at least 2 years of recent medical-surgical nursing experience.
• Maintain current BLS and ACLS certifications.
• Have NIH Stroke Certification before start; additional CEUs to be completed during orientation.
• Demonstrate strong IV skills and experience with cardiac drips.
• Travel experience preferred but not required.
