Registered Nurse (RN) – Med Surg/Stepdown

Work Schedule:
Night Shift | 7:00 PM – 7:30 AM
Responsibilities for this position include, but are not limited to:
- Provide comprehensive nursing care to adult Med Surg and Stepdown patients.
- Perform patient assessments and develop individualized care plans.
- Administer medications, IV therapies, and cardiac drips safely.
- Monitor and interpret telemetry/EKG strips.
- Perform wound assessments and provide appropriate wound care.
- Float to Med Surg units as needed based on staffing requirements.
- Collaborate with physicians and the interdisciplinary team to ensure quality patient care.
- Maintain accurate and timely documentation in accordance with facility policies.
To be considered for this position, you should have:
- Graduate of an accredited Registered Nursing program.
- Current and active New York RN License.
- BLS and ACLS certifications required.
- NIH Stroke Certification required prior to start.
- Minimum 2 years of current Med Surg/Telemetry experience preferred (candidates with strong telemetry experience, including Cardizem drips and EKG interpretation, may be considered with slightly less experience).
- Previous travel nursing experience preferred.
- Strong IV therapy, telemetry monitoring, cardiac drip management, and wound care skills.
- Must be willing to work every other weekend and holiday.
- Completion of 8 hours of CEUs during facility orientation is required.
