About the RoleThe Staff Accountant supports day‑to‑day accounting operations across multiple entities and business lines in a dynamic construction environment. This role is responsible for maintaining accurate financial records, supporting the month‑end close process, reconciling accounts, managing intercompany activity, and helping ensure consistency across all entities.
You’ll work closely with leadership and cross‑functional teams to support financial reporting, operational efficiency, and a disciplined accounting process across the organization.
What You’ll Do Month‑End Close & Financial Reporting- Support and manage month‑end close activities across multiple entities
- Prepare journal entries, balance sheet reconciliations, and supporting schedules
- Maintain accurate general ledger activity and financial records
- Assist with consolidated financial reporting and intercompany reconciliations
- Investigate and resolve discrepancies across accounts and entities
- Support year‑end close and audit preparation activities
- Perform monthly bank reconciliations across multiple accounts
- Record cash activity and support cash management processes
- Assist with weekly payment cycles and monitoring cash positioning
- Maintain fixed asset schedules and depreciation tracking
- Track equipment financing and loan activity
- Ensure proper recording of asset additions, disposals, and financing transactions
- Prepare and file sales and use tax returns across applicable jurisdictions
- Reconcile tax liabilities and maintain compliance documentation
- Provide support for accounts payable and accounts receivable activities as business needs evolve
- Assist with invoice processing, payment support, and collections follow‑up
- Collaborate across teams to support continuity and operational success
- Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field
- 2–4 years of accounting experience, preferably in a multi‑entity or construction environment
- Strong understanding of accounting principles and financial controls
- Advanced Microsoft Excel skills
- Experience working within ERP/accounting systems
- Experience with job costing or project‑based accounting preferred
- Strong attention to detail and organizational skills
- Ability to manage multiple priorities and deadlines in a fast‑paced environment
- Collaborative mindset with strong communication and problem‑solving skills
