This is not a button-pushing role—we are looking for a hands-on technician capable of machine setup, process development, and troubleshooting across a variety of tube bending applications.
Key Responsibilities Perform full machine setup and changeovers on CNC tube bending equipment
Set and adjust tooling including mandrels, wiper dies, clamp dies, and pressure dies
Load, edit, and optimize CNC bending programs
Interpret blueprints, prints, and GD&T requirements to ensure part accuracy
Conduct first piece validation and make necessary adjustments (spring back, offsets, etc.)Troubleshoot bending defects such as wrinkling, flattening, and distortion
Work with engineering and tooling teams to develop and refine bending processes
Use checking fixtures, gauges, and measuring equipment to verify quality
Maintain production efficiency while ensuring tight tolerance requirements are met Support continuous improvement efforts related to cycle time, scrap reduction, and quality
Required Skills & Experience3+ years of experience in CNC tube bending (setup preferred)
Strong knowledge of:
Rotary draw bending
Mandrel bending
Proven ability to perform machine setups and tooling adjustments independently
Ability to read and interpret blueprints and GD&TExperience with spring back compensation and bend sequence adjustments
Familiarity with multi-axis CNC bending machines
Strong mechanical aptitude and troubleshooting skills
Preferred Experience (Highly Valued)
Experience with machines such as:
Eaton LeonardBLMPines Unison Schwarze -Robitec Experience working with:
High-strength steels (AHSS)
Stainless steel
Aluminum tubing and extrusions
Background in:
Tube laser cutting
Welding (MIG/TIG)
Fabrication or assembly processes
Experience with CMM, Faro Arm, or advanced inspection equipment
Exposure to automotive OEM or Tier 1 production environments
