- Deliver research-based teaching techniques to address the diverse academic and functional needs of a K-12 caseload of students with visual impairments.
- Modify and adapt instructional materials—including large print, Braille, and digital formats—to ensure students can fully access the general education curriculum.
- Implement and support the use of specialized tools such as video magnifiers, screen readers, and refreshable Braille displays.
- Partner daily with families, classroom teachers, and support personnel to foster an inclusive environment that promotes overall student progress and self-advocacy.
- Bachelor’s degree in Special Education or a related field (Master’s preferred)
- Active Illinois Professional Educator License (PEL) with a Blind or Visually Impaired Endorsement (Required)
- Proficiency in Unified English Braille (UEB) and experience with assistive technology
- Prior experience as a TVI or in a K-12 setting supporting students with visual impairments
- Top Compensation:
Earn $39.60 - $46.30 Per Hour
