The Valley View Public School District is seeking a full‑time Student Resource Team (SRT) Leader for the 2026‑2027 school year.
LocationIrene H. King Elementary (.6) and Kenneth L. Hermansen Elementary School (.4)
Job SummaryThe SRT Leader is responsible for:
- Working with administration and staff to improve instructional outcomes for learners.
- Coordinating building‑based special education programs and services.
- Coordinating problem‑solving activities performed by Student Resource Teams.
- Coordinating and facilitating IEP meetings that comply with IDEA and ISBE Special Education Rules, Regulations, and Procedural Safeguards.
- Maintaining accurate and up‑to‑date IEP database and required student records.
- Handling additional duties as assigned in accordance with Board policies and requirements.
- Current Illinois Teaching (PEL) Professional Educator Licensure with required endorsement (LBS1, Type 73 School Psychologist or School Social Worker)
- Knowledge of current, research‑based teaching techniques and instructional methodologies for children who are at‑risk and have special needs.
- Familiarity with IDEA and ISBE Special Education Rules, Regulations, and Procedural Safeguards.
- Familiarity with the use of technology and related IEP databases.
- Ability to facilitate problem‑solving teams and IEP meetings.
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills with staff and families.
- Ability to work cooperatively with others.
- Leadership experience working with ISBE.
Salary is in accordance with the teacher salary schedule.
