The College of Business and Graduate School of Management at Lewis University seeks to establish a pool of potential undergraduate adjunct instructors in the Finance discipline to serve as dynamic, student‑centered educators focused on experiential learning and active engagement.
Adjunct faculty report to their department chair and/or the dean, performing instruction‑related duties and responsibilities in a timely manner and in accordance with the mission, policies, and procedures of the University. The relationship of the adjunct faculty member to the student is one of teacher and facilitator of learning.
Responsibilities- Teach courses at the Romeoville (Main), Oak Brook, and/or Albuquerque campuses, or online during weekdays or evenings.
- Prepare course materials, syllabus, and update Blackboard course shells (LMS platform).
- Participate in required University and College activities, trainings, and certifications.
- Provide support and guidance to students.
- Cooperate with department chairs or other program faculty to assure program quality and consistency.
- Master’s degree in the chosen or related discipline; for Finance courses, a Master’s degree in Finance (MBA or MS Finance) and CFA certification with business experience preferred.
- Excellent communication, problem‑solving, and organizational skills.
- Successful completion of the Lewis University Online Teaching Certification Program.
- Willingness to be flexible in class scheduling.
- Minimum of ten years in mid‑to‑senior management positions demonstrating mastery of the subject matter discipline in the classroom.
- Evidence of prior quality teaching and/or training experiences.
- Experience with Blackboard and hybrid delivery desirable.
Repetitive movement of hands and fingers – typing and/or writing; frequent standing, sitting, occasional walking, stooping, kneeling, or crouching; reach with hands and arms; visually identify, observe, and assess. Regular physical attendance required. Reasonable accommodations may be made, upon request, to enable individuals with disabilities to perform essential functions.
Work HoursPart‑time; adjunct positions may instruct one or two courses each semester on an “as needed” basis.
