Adjunct Faculty‑NCCER Carpentry Pre‑Apprenticeship Instructor
Position Summary:
The Adjunct Faculty – NCCER Carpentry Pre‑Apprenticeship Instructor is responsible for delivering NCCER‑accredited Core and Carpentry curriculum to participants enrolled in workforce and pre‑apprenticeship training programs. This role focuses on hands‑on instruction, jobsite safety, foundational carpentry skills, and employability competencies aligned with industry standards. The instructor ensures compliance with NCCER accreditation requirements, institutional policies, and applicable workforce funding guidelines while supporting student retention, credential attainment, and apprenticeship readiness.
- Deliver NCCER‑accredited Core and Carpentry curriculum in accordance with NCCER policies and assessment standards.
- Provide instruction in construction safety, hand and power tools, construction math, blueprint reading, layout, and framing fundamentals.
- Utilize lectures, demonstrations, and hands‑on lab activities to support diverse learning styles.
- Prepare students for successful completion of NCCER written and performance‑based assessments.
- Develop and implement lesson plans aligned with approved curriculum and program schedules.
- Maintain a safe, organized, and supportive classroom and lab environment.
- Accurately track student attendance, grades, skills checklists, and assessment documentation.
- Provide timely feedback and counsel students on academic progress and career pathways.
- Communicate regularly with program leadership and support staff.
- Utilize instructional technology platforms as required.
- Participate in meetings, professional development, and compliance training.
- Minimum of three (3) years of professional, hands‑on carpentry experience.
- Demonstrated knowledge of carpentry tools, materials, and safety practices.
- Strong communication, organizational, and classroom management skills.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office and instructional technology.
- Five (5) or more years of professional carpentry experience.
- Associate’s degree or higher in Carpentry, Construction Management, Construction Technology, or a related field.
- Prior teaching or workforce training experience.
- Ability to stand for extended periods and perform hands‑on demonstrations.
- Ability to lift and move tools, equipment, and materials.
- Instruction occurs in classroom, workshop, and simulated jobsite environments.
Part‑time; as needed basis.
