The Admission Counselor plays an integral role in the recruitment and admission of students, providing guidance to potential students counseling them on the St. Augustine educational experience, admission process and enrollment. This individual will be a member of the larger admission team and will collaborate with colleagues to meet the needs of students and achieve admission goals.

Responsibilities
  • Manage a group of prospective students following a high-touch outreach strategy with the goal of converting them to enrolled students.
  • Communicate with inquiries and applicants via phone, email, text and in-person meetings.
  • Work with Slate CRM to enhance enrollment potential, and document prospective student communications.
  • Counsel prospective students on instructional programs, course planning, financial aid, admissions, and registration.
  • Collaborate with the admission team to identify recruitment opportunities in target markets and work within targeted areas to increase enrollment activities, including relationship building with high school counselors, agency directors, business affiliates.
  • Organize and conduct recruitment visits and assist in preparing recruitment and outreach campaigns, marketing plans, and promotional materials.
  • Develop annual enrollment goals with the Director of Admissions and admissions team members including strategies to grow active pipeline of candidates.
  • Supports the overall mission, vision, and values of the college and the goals of the admission office.
Minimum Qualifications
  • Bachelor’s degree supplemented with three (3) years experience in admission and/or enrollment services.
  • Effective oral and written communication in both English and Spanish is required.
  • Flexible schedule which includes evening and Saturday hours as well as possible travel to other college locations.
  • Fluency in Microsoft office and acuity in learning and utilizing specialty systems such as Jenzabar and Slate.
  • Knowledge of higher education enrollment and financial aid.
  • Excellent interpersonal/human relations skills with a keen ability to coordinate and collaborate effectively with college department and effectively seek resolutions to problems and conflicts with staff and students.
  • Excellent customer service skills.
  • Update job knowledge by participating in training and education opportunities, reading professional publications, maintaining personal networks and active membership in professional organizations.
  • Maintain confidentiality with all information related to student services and students.
