Job SummaryThe teacher is responsible to the building principal for planning instructional lessons that meet the needs, interests, and abilities of students; creating a classroom environment that is conducive to learning; and employing effective instructional techniques.
Qualifications- State of Illinois PEL Professional Educator License with an endorsement in Science (chemistry preferred)
- Successful experience teaching grades 9‑12 (preferred)
- Demonstrated skill in diagnosing, prescribing, assessing student learning, and appropriate recordkeeping
- Knowledge of current teaching techniques
- Ability to structure a classroom to maximize student learning
- Effective communication skills with a variety of stakeholders
- Willingness to participate in co‑curricular programs as sponsor, supervisor, or coach
Long‑term substitute teaching assignments exceeding 20 days: $215 per day.
