Nursing Instructor (On-Site)

Rasmussen University seeks an accomplished Master's or Doctorate‑prepared nurse who is passionate about helping nursing students succeed. This instructor will teach courses in a variety of modalities and support the vision and mission of the university.

Instructors are responsible for teaching courses in a variety of modalities while promoting and supporting the vision and mission of Rasmussen University. Instructors will generally teach 4.5‑5.5 work units each quarter equaling a full‑time work schedule.

• Use effective teaching strategies and multiple teaching techniques; teach and model appropriate learning skills and create an environment conducive to learning.
• Create high levels of student engagement through activities, community building, and student‑centered learning, including the use of live classroom tools to hold synchronous sessions.
• Maintain clarity, relevance, and connection of class session objectives to course performance.
• Keep the classroom organized and use class time efficiently.
• Demonstrate mastery and ability to articulate and relate to students.
• Play an integral role in the development and implementation of curriculum and assessment for their area of expertise.
• Provide a classroom presence in support of students in collaboration with the Dean.
• Offer student support and outreach, ensuring success through synchronous or asynchronous communication and meetings.
• Attend events, programmatic meetings, and committee work as agreed upon or designated by the Dean.

The Instructor reports to the Nursing Administrator, which may be the Area Dean or Dean of Nursing, depending on location.

• Master’s Degree in Nursing is required.
• Active Illinois RN license that has never been encumbered.
• At least 2 years of experience in Medical‑Surgical/Telemetry/ICU, with at least 1 year of teaching experience preferred.
• American Heart Association BLS for Healthcare Providers.
• Active CPR certification administered by the American Heart Association or the American Red Cross.
• At least 1 year of clinical experience as an RN; 2+ years preferred.
• Previous teaching or training experience preferred.
• Self‑motivated, flexible, and able to work in a team environment with minimal supervision.
• Excellent interpersonal communication, presentation, and leadership abilities.
• Proof of professional licenses/certifications, official transcripts for each degree earned from an accredited institution, and applicable faculty immunization documentation.

Rasmussen offers a competitive compensation range of $69,400.00 to $93,700.00, determined by factors such as job level, location, skill set, experience, training, and organizational needs.
