The Valley View Public School District is seeking an individual to fill a full‑time School Psychologist position for the school year.
Job SummaryThe psychologist reports to the Building Principal and the Director of Special Education and works cooperatively with school personnel to identify, diagnose, and remediate individual students with specialized needs. The psychologist conducts and reports assessment results during entitlement and re‑evaluation processes, supports instruction through counseling, and applies knowledge of problem‑solving, curriculum‑based measures, and response to intervention.
Qualifications- Current Illinois (PEL) Professional Educator License with a School Psychologist (PK‑21) endorsement
- Excellent communication skills with students, teachers, parents, and the School Resource Team, and a willingness to ensure that communication occurs
- Satisfactory experience as a special education psychologist
- Experience in group counseling, peer mediation, parent training, behavior management/intervention strategies strongly desired
- Additional duties may be assigned in accordance with Board policies and requirements
Salary is in accordance with the teacher salary schedule. The District offers excellent fringe benefits such as health, dental, and life insurance.
