Bilingual; English​/Spanish Instructional Aide

Overview

The Valley View Public School District is seeking a full-time Bilingual (English/Spanish) Teacher Aide (Paraprofessional/Bilingual Instructional Aide) located at Brooks Middle School.

• Assist the teacher in a variety of semi-instructional tasks in a general educational setting.
• Provide support to a student with significant disabilities within the classroom and around the building.
• Assist with communication, scheduling, and modifications of curriculum as needed.
• May require toileting, feeding, and lifting of students.

• Knowledge of curriculum materials and instructional techniques.
• Initiative to follow through with assigned tasks.
• Effective interpersonal and communication skills; bilingual English/Spanish required.
• A physical exam and negative TB test are required.
• Evidence of a Statement of Approval from the Will County Regional Office of Education to serve as a teacher aide with license registered in Will County.
• Ability to foster positive student–teacher communication.

The work year for this position is 185 days. Salary is paid in accordance with the current teacher aide salary schedule.
