Step into a rewarding role supporting students with special needs. Immediate opportunities are available for passionate educators near Romeoville, IL, to excel in a contract setting within both elementary and middle school environments.

At the elementary level, work in a self-contained Structured Teaching and Learning Room (STLR) designed for students with Autism and significant Functional Communication needs. You'll nurture a caseload of up to 13 students, helping them achieve their potential through individualized strategies and a supportive atmosphere.

At the middle school, partner as a co-teacher in Supported Education, collaborating closely to deliver tailored instruction and accommodations for students who benefit from specialized resources. With a maximum caseload of 13, you can offer personalized attention and foster growth in an inclusive setting.

Desired Experience &

Qualifications:
  • Valid Special Education Teacher certification required
  • Previous experience with Autism and Functional Communication interventions preferred
  • Strong ability to adapt instructional strategies for diverse learning profiles
  • Collaborative mindset for working with fellow educators, therapists, and support staff
  • Proficient in managing individualized education plans (IEPs) and data collection
  • Committed to fostering an inclusive, positive, and respectful classroom environment
Key Responsibilities:
  • Plan and implement differentiated lessons tailored to each students IEP goals
  • Utilize structured teaching methodologies and augmentative/alternative communication supports
  • Effectively manage classroom behavior and routines
  • Maintain accurate records and regular communication with families and staff
  • Engage in team meetings and ongoing professional development
