High School Special Education Substitute Guest Teacher
The Valley View Public School District is seeking an individual to fill a temporary special education substitute guest' teaching position for the school year. Dates:
October 26, 2026
- February 19, 2027.
Job Summary:
The teacher is responsible to the Building Principal for planning instructional lessons that meet the needs, interests, and abilities of students; creating a classroom environment conducive to learning; and employing effective instructional techniques.
Qualifications:
Applicants must hold a State of Illinois (PEL) Professional Educator License with a LBS1 endorsement. Successful 9-12 teaching experience (preferred). Demonstrated skill in diagnosing, prescribing, assessing student learning, and appropriate recordkeeping. Knowledge of current teaching techniques. Applicants must be able to structure a classroom to maximize student learning. Applicants must be able to establish effective communication skills with a variety of stakeholders.
Willingness to participate in co-curricular programs as a sponsor, supervisor, or coach.
Working Conditions:
Long-term substitute teaching assignments exceeding 20 days: $215 per day.
