Position Overview
Automated Design Corporation specializes in the design and development of automated sports-testing equipment and industrial automation systems. We combine precision engineering, hands-on prototyping, and advanced mechanical design to deliver reliable, high-performance automated solutions. Position Overview Engineer III is a senior-level mechanical engineering role responsible for leading major design efforts, driving system-level integration, and setting engineering standards. You will mentor junior engineers, guide technical decisions, and ensure high-quality mechanical design across projects.
Key Responsibilities- Lead system-level mechanical design for automated sports-testing and industrial automation systems.
- Create advanced Solid Works models, large assemblies, and complex geometry.
- Establish and enforce CAD standards, modeling best practices, and revision control.
- Drive design reviews, testing strategies, and reliability improvements.
- Own technical direction for major components or product lines.
- Diagnose and resolve complex mechanical issues during assembly and integration.
- Mentor Engineer I and II team members in Solid Works, design fundamentals, and engineering judgment.
- Oversee 3D printing strategy for prototyping and development.
- Collaborate with leadership on long-term engineering strategy and continuous improvement.
- Bachelor's degree in Mechanical Engineering or related field.
- 6+ years of professional mechanical engineering experience.
- Expert-level Solid Works capability (advanced surfacing, large assemblies, design automation tools).
- Strong understanding of materials, tolerances, manufacturing processes, and system integration.
- Proven ability to lead projects and mentor other engineers.
- Experience with automation systems, robotics, or industrial machinery.
- Experience working directly with suppliers and manufacturing partners.
- Background in reliability engineering or advanced testing methods.
