Assistant Director of Finance
Performs functions under the supervision of the Director of Finance, the Assistant Director of Finance assumes primary responsibility of supporting Payroll and fiscal activities.
Essential Functions:
- Assist with the preparation of Federal Form W-2, 1099 and quarterly payroll tax returns.
- Assist in preparation of annual budget.
- Coordinates annual audit and assists with preparing work papers.
- Is the backup for the Accounting, Payroll and Accounts Payable functions.
- Provides reports that will support the management of cash flow and investments of the District in accordance with State Statutes and Board policy.
- Provides support for the District's Procurement Card Program.
- Assists with Preparing monthly financial reports for the Board of Education.
- Responsible for District accounting records.
- Assist buildings with the Student Trust Accounts and the reconciliation of these accounts each month.
- Provides support with the preparation of ISBE reporting.
- Assists in processing official athletic payments.
- Coordinates the fiscal year end earning reports.
- Process fiscal year end absence balances.
- Update contractual payroll schedules for the new fiscal year and when necessary, process retroactive payroll for contract settlements.
- Responsible for bond payments.
- Other duties as assigned.
Qualifications:
Experience:
Three years' experience school district finances
Other
Skills and Abilities:
- General knowledge of the District's financial software
- Ability to develop and implement short and long-range plans.
- Ability to function effectively as a member of the central office.
- Ability to communicate effectively in speech and writing.
- Ability to make firm decisions and delegate responsibility to staff.
Work Environment:
Work is performed in an environment where unusual temperatures, noise, and hazards are relatively nonexistent.
Terms of Employment:
Salary is based on market comparisons as determined by the Superintendent. The work year for this position is twelve months.
Salary Range: $81,000-$86,000 Based on Experience
