Salary Range:$56,047.72 - $77,562.41

Job Duties:

The Records Clerk is responsible for the accurate processing, maintenance, and dissemination of police records and related documentation. In addition to traditional records duties, this position will also serve as the department’s Crime Analyst, supporting data driven policing, investigative efficiency, and strategic deployment.

The following duties are normal for this position. These are not to be construed as exclusive or all-inclusive. Other duties may be required and assigned.

  • Process, maintain, and archive police reports, citations, and case files
  • Manage FOIA requests, expungements, and court-related documentation
  • Provide customer service to the public, staff, and partner agencies
  • Ensure compliance with state and federal reporting requirements
  • Maintain accuracy, confidentiality, and chain-of-custody standards
  • Support administrative functions within the Records Division
  • Assembles necessary documents and records for court; assists court officers in making tickets and documentation available during court sessions
  • Performs matron duties; assists in booking and searching female prisoners, as required.
  • Collect, organize, and analyze crime, calls-for-service, and traffic data to identify trends
  • Produce weekly, monthly, and annual analytical reports for command staff, investigations and patrol
  • Develop actionable intelligence products to support case development, offender identification, and problem-oriented policing initiatives
  • Maintain and update analytical dashboards, mapping platforms, and statistical tools
  • Assist investigations with link analysis, timeline construction, and data correlation
  • Provide analytical support for special operations, directed patrols, and community-impact strategies
  • Coordinate with regional partners and intelligence centers to share relevant information
  • Ensure data integrity, accuracy, and compliance with state and federal reporting standards
  • Present findings to patrol officers and command staff
  • Performs related work as required
  • Prepare and disseminate information with appropriate staff
  • Other duties as assigned

Minimum Training and Experience Required to Perform

Essential Job Functions:

  • Minimum of two-years work related experience in general clerical work and office environment, preferably in a police department.
  • Minimum of one-year experience in crime analyst work.
  • Experience with NIBRS and P1 preferred.
  • Applicant must possess a valid high school diploma or GED.
