TITLE: Human Resources Generalist

REPORTS TO: Assistant Superintendent for Human Resources, Director of Human Resources and Administrative Assistant for Human Resources

JOB SUMMARY: Provides high-level administrative support. Collaboration, coordination and cooperation with multiple departments within the Valley View School District to ensure alignment with Board of Education and Office of Human Resources objectives in both policies and practice. Provides the highest level of customer service to various constituents within the district: students, families, community members, employees, supervisors, managers, directors and senior leadership.

ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS:

  • Provides timely and courteous customer service office support.
  • Additional responsibilities will be assigned to certain areas such as, but not limited to:
    Certified, Classified, and Leaves of Absence.
  • The supervisor will assign specific duties from the list below related to the various roles within the department as needed. This list is not meant to be an all-inclusive list, but rather to define with as much latitude as possible the essential functions of this position.
  • Processes and maintains criminal background history checks, including Employment Verification requests as required by Faith's Law. Supports and trains members of the Human Resources office.
  • Provides support to Administrative Assistant for Human Resources for various projects.
  • Coordinates and leads the hiring process for certified or classified roles as designated by direct supervisor Maintaining and disseminating of electronic faxes.
  • Entering certified and classified information on consolidated action reports.
  • Processing of student-teacher placement requests.
  • Managing access to various hiring and evaluation platforms.
  • Processing of various Employee Personnel Action Requests (ePARS).
  • Monitoring of licensure for educational staff for renewal cycles and expiration.
  • Manages the onboarding of new staff, including audits of personnel files to ensure compliance with required documentation.
  • Maintains record of mandated compliance requirements.
  • Processes tuition reimbursement paperwork including lane changes, as applicable.
  • Processes retirement paperwork for staff, as applicable.
  • Posting of seniority lists.
  • Processes employment and salary verification requests.
  • Participates in projects to develop and implement human resources policies, programs, or process changes.
  • Monitors trends in labor positions to impact future negotiations
  • Supports data retrieval and compilation for collective bargaining
  • May support the employee discipline investigative process
  • Serves as a role model for all students and perform their duties to create an environment that is conducive to providing students with an enhanced and engaged learning opportunity. Performs other job-related duties as assigned.

QUALIFICATIONS:

EDUCATION

  • Bachelors degree in Human Resources Management preferred from an accredited college or university, or three years of office administration experience
  • Minimum of high school diploma or G.E.D. equivalent with at least three years of office administration experience in Human Resources

EXPERIENCE

  • At least 3 years or more of experience in Human Resources, preferred

  • Must know basic accounting principles.

  • Must possess excellent typing, grammar, and computer skills including all Microsoft Office Suite and Google products.
  • Must be highly organized and be able to work with little or no supervision.
