We are looking for a Technical Service Lead to join our team in the Chicago area. This is an in‑office role that will serve as the daily operational lead for Vikinor’s US technical service team based in the Chicago, IL and Spartanburg, SC regions.

The RoleThe Technical Service Lead will act as the primary technical service escalation point and operational lead for Vikinor’s service activities in the United States. The role combines technical troubleshooting, field service coordination, commissioning support, customer interaction, and continuous improvement of service operations across telecom, data centre, and energy infrastructure projects. You will work closely with customers, service partners, and internal engineering and commercial teams across both the US and abroad.
YourResponsibilities Lead Technical Support, Field Service & Commissioning
- Act as the primary technical service escalation point for complex issues across the US market
- Coordinate and support daily activities across the Chicago and Spartanburg service teams
- Support customers and partners in diagnosing and resolving technical challenges
- Support installation, commissioning, and start‑up activities across customer projects
- Provide hands‑on support for critical or technically complex situations when required
- Ensure structured communication, follow‑up, and resolution of technical issues
- Improve service workflows, response times, warranty handling, and technical support processes
- Support root cause analysis and corrective actions related to recurring issues
- Act as a senior technical interface toward customers and local service partners
- Support training activities and maintain technical documentation and troubleshooting guides
- Help strengthen operational consistency and scalability across the US organization
- Provide structured feedback from field operations to engineering and product teams in Europe
- Contribute to improving product reliability, service quality, and customer experience
- Support the continued development of Vikinor’s US service capabilities

We imagine that you combine strong technical capabilities with a practical and structured approach to customer support and team coordination.
You likely have:
- 5–10+ years of experience within technical service, field engineering, commissioning, or technical support
- Experience working with telecom, data center, power, cooling, or related infrastructure systems
- Strong troubleshooting and diagnostic capabilities
- Experience supporting or coordinating technical service teams
- Strong communication and customer‑facing skills
- A proactive and improvement‑oriented mindset with a high level of ownership and accountability
- Degree in Electrical Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, or similar technical field
- Familiarity with US standards such as UL, NEBS, AHRI, ASHRAE, ASME, NEC, etc is an advantage
- Experience working with technical documentation and reporting
- Willingness to travel across the United States (approximately 30–50 days annually)
