Purpose of Your WorkThe Material Handler is responsible for executing all activities related to safely unloading, inbound receiving, inventory control, and internal material movement within the warehouse. This role ensures accurate transactions in the ERP system, supports production schedules, and maintains a clean, safe, and organized warehouse environment.
Also ensures the manufacturing line always has needed materials by monitoring stock, coordinating with warehouse/planning teams, moving components (raw, WIP, packaging) from storage to the line, and resolving shortages to prevent downtime, focusing on accuracy, efficiency, and safety to keep production flowing smoothly. Key duties involve tracking inventory levels, communicating needs, staging materials, performing cycle counts, and improving replenishment processes, requiring strong coordination and problem‑solving.
HowYou Make a Difference Everyday Inbound & Receiving
- Unload inbound shipments using forklifts, pallet jacks, or other material handling equipment.
- Inspect, verify, and document incoming materials against purchase orders and packing slips.
- Accurately receive materials into the ERP system.
- Apply correct labeling, identification, and storage requirements.
- Communicate discrepancies, damages, or shortages to Inventory Control or Purchasing.
- Move materials between cells, following routing, delivery tickets or orders.
- Fill orders from storage areas and warehouse stock and deliver to designated cells.
- Operate hand truck and powered lift trucks to move materials and stack loaded pallets.
- Accurately perform inventory transactions using the ERP system.
- Communicate discrepancies, damages, or shortages to Inventory Control or Purchasing.
- Contribute to team effort by training others as needed.
- Process receiving, returning, and inventory adjustment transactions in the ERP system.
- Use handheld scanners, tablets, or terminals to ensure real‑time accuracy.
- Maintain accurate records for traceability and compliance requirements.
- Operate material handling equipment safely and follow all OSHA and company safety standards.
- Maintain clean, safe, and organized work areas, aisles, racks, and staging zones.
- Follow proper PPE guidelines and participate in safety audits or training.
- 5 years of warehouse, material handling, or manufacturing support experience required.
- 5 years of experience operating powered industrial truck (PIT) – sit down forklift, reach truck, riding electric pallet jack
- Experience with inbound receiving, inventory control, or internal material delivery
- Able to read and interpret shipping documents
- Familiarity with ERP systems.
- Strong attention to detail and commitment to accuracy.
- Basic to Intermediate computer skills.
- Understand and follow verbal and written instructions in English.
- Strong communication and teamwork skills.
- High degree of accuracy and accountability.
- Problem‑solving mindset and willingness to support continuous improvement.
- Ability to prioritize and manage multiple tasks simultaneously.
