Job Overview

Position within Romeoville Public Works focusing on operation and maintenance of municipal water and sewer systems.

Job Location:

615 Anderson Dr., Romeoville, IL. Salary Range: $68,291.47 - $94,251.79.

• Respond to resident complaints, assist in debris cleanup, and initiate repairs to the water and sewer system equipment and facilities.
• Operate trucks, tractors, vacuum truck, and other mobile and fixed equipment on maintenance jobs.
• Install water meters, repair water system and sewer damage, read water meters, and prepare simple reports.
• Maintain, operate, and repair fire hydrants and valves, including auxiliary, main, and service valves.
• Perform minor repairs or alterations to mechanical equipment such as trucks and tractors.
• Collect water samples from designated areas for testing and analysis.
• Rodd remaile turning of sewers for maintenance and removal of blockages.
• Clean and maintain lift stations and wastewater equipment.
• Perform underground utility locating for water, sewer, and street lighting.
• Utilize computer software for work orders and utility system operations.

• Minimum one year of work‑related experience in maintenance or construction work.
• Valid high school diploma or GED.
• Valid Class A CDL driver’s license.
