Position: Reach Operator(Co-Pack )- 2nd Shift (W14)

Schedule/Shift: 2nd Shift, Monday - Friday / 4:00 PM - 12:30 AM ($20/hr)

Job Purpose

To operate forklifts (reach trucks) safely and efficiently; handle all freight inbound or outbound properly and in order; maintain warehouse area with orderly stacking and good housekeeping; loading and unloading of RJW trucks, trailers, and outside carriers safely and using proper procedures; ensure all shipments are correctly staged, checked, and loaded; responsible for properly storing stock in the warehouse; perform duties to provide material handling services for warehouse shipping and receiving handling activities;

work from warehouse operation sheets using a forklift to pick customer orders and load on trailers; maintain forklift safety at all times following all safety policies and procedures.

Essential Duties And Responsibilities
  • Assists Warehouse Manager to ensure efficient operation of the warehouse.
  • Ability to operate reach truck and/or walkie‑rider.
  • General understanding of computers and handheld RF equipment.
  • Loads and unloads RJW truck/trailers safely and efficiently using proper procedures, including outside carriers equipment.
  • Flexible to work 10 to 12 hour shifts when necessary and not afraid of heights.
  • Picking and moving stock from 1 lb. to 50 lbs. multiple times.
  • Ensures all shipments are correctly staged and loaded properly.
  • Maintains warehouse area with orderly stacking and good housekeeping.
  • Processing outbound cross‑dock freight as necessary.
  • Oversees storing stock properly in the warehouse and moving product into the storage racks.
  • Works from warehouse operation sheets using a forklift to pick customer orders and load on trailers.
  • Records and verifies the accuracy of shipments against paperwork for incoming and outgoing shipments/deliveries.
  • Ensures all documentation and paperwork is properly completed.
  • Operates forklifts safely and efficiently following all OSHA regulations, RJW safety policies, and procedures.
  • Wearing seat belts at all times when operating the forklift.
  • Completes daily forklift maintenance inspections.
  • Handles all customer products properly and in an orderly manner.
  • Checks deliveries for poor packing, general condition of materials, and free of damage. Alerts Warehouse Supervisor of any problems, taking pictures if necessary.
  • Reports all accidents/incidents, employee damage of stock, or building damage to the Shift Supervisor immediately.
  • Spotting of trailers to maintain efficient yard organization and flow of equipment for the day.
  • Maintains access to dock doors both inside and outside the facility, keeping them free of debris or snow.
  • Other tasks as assigned by manager.
Additional Responsibilities
  • Possesses a sense of urgency, accountability, and ability to work with limited supervision.
  • General understanding of computers and handheld RF equipment.
  • He/she must be able to read, write, and understand English.
  • Attention to detail and quality is a must.
  • Good communication, clear and concise, problem resolution, and people skills.
  • Flexibility in working overtime when needed, and supplying coverage to other shifts.
  • PC skills helpful.
  • Major experience on reach truck or stand‑up forklift/EPJs.
  • Experience in building pallets with stock and breaking down stock to fill independent orders.
  • Experience in cross‑docking freight process.

    Ability to work in a fast paced warehouse.
Qualifications
  • 3–6 months of forklift driving experience in a warehouse using reach trucks and electric pallet jacks.
  • Good stable work record.
Education And/or Experience Required
  • High School Diploma or general education diploma (GED).
  • Warehousing certifications a plus.
