Truck Driver Local Casual Class B

Position Description

Ryder is hiring a Class B Casual Truck Driver in Romeoville, IL with weekly pay, comprehensive benefits, and a career focused on safety and customer service.

• Hourly pay: $24.75 per hour
• Hours per week: 40+ (no weekends), starting 5:30 AM
• Paid training
• Weekly pay

• Deliver to Chicago and surrounding suburban areas
• Local Home Daily route
• Tractor: 26’ straight truck
• Accept automatic restriction
• Equipment: pallet jack, dolly, lift gate (Ryder provides training)
• Hazmat endorsement required at interview
• Freight: touch – HVAC

• Minimum 21 years old
• Minimum 6 months verifiable driving experience, including straight truck or box truck
• Pass Ryder drug test, background and motor vehicle check, DOT physical, and Ryder road test
• Valid driver’s license
• Ability to follow written and/or oral instructions
• Ability to read, interpret and apply laws, rules, regulations, policies and procedures

• Safely drive within all applicable regulations, maintain continuous training and excellent customer service
• Ensure compliance with federal/state laws and agency rules
• Detect and eliminate or minimize safety hazards
• Maintain accurate records and load/unload freight as required
• Complete other tasks as assigned
