Forklift Warehouse Operator

Job Summary

Ryder is hiring a Material Handler in Romeoville, Illinois to perform a variety of warehouse functions including loading, picking, packing, shipping, receiving, forklift operation, cycle counting, and paperwork.

• Hourly Pay: $23.00 per hour
• Overtime Pay: $34.50 per hour
• Shift Pay: $3.00 per shift
• Schedule:
  
  Wednesday 12:00 am – 6:00 pm, Thursday – Saturday 6:00 pm – 6:00 am (times may vary)

• Perform warehouse functions such as loading, picking, packing, shipping, receiving, forklift operation, and cycle counting.
• Complete duties within the performance measurement guidelines of the contract.
• Ensure accurate picking, packing, auditing, tote induction, and staging of products; load and unload trucks.
• Handle day‑to‑day paperwork in a warehouse environment, including picking sheets, returns, bills of lading, and other documents.
• Provide technical and maintenance support for automated packing systems during core shift hours.
• Perform other duties as assigned.

• High school diploma or equivalent preferred.
• One year or more of warehouse and/or powered industrial truck experience preferred.
• Valid Forklift Operator's License.
• Strong verbal and written communication skills.
• Ability to work both independently and as part of a team.
• Ability to create and maintain professional relationships within all levels of the organization.
• Highly thorough, dependable, and punctual with a good attendance record.
• Ability to work independently with minimal supervision and to initiate tasks proactively.
• Demonstrates a high level of accuracy, even under pressure.
• Ability to lift and/or push/pull up to 35 lbs.
• Ability to stand for long periods of time and to work using health and safety methods.
• Must be available for a flexible schedule across various shifts.
• Detail oriented with excellent follow‑up practices.
