Forklift Operator
This Forklift Operator position is based on site in Romeoville and involves working full time in a freezer warehouse environment. The role operates multiple shifts including Monday through Friday from 6:00 a.m. to 2:00 p.m. or Monday through Friday from 2:00 p.m. to 10:00 p.m., supporting daily warehouse operations through safe and efficient stand-up forklift use. The position is offered as a temporary assignment with the opportunity for permanent employment, depending on performance and business needs.
Personal protective equipment is provided to support work in the cold storage environment. This role is suitable for an experienced stand-up forklift operator who can follow warehouse safety procedures and maintain consistent productivity during the afternoon and evening shift.
Varied job activities with different tasks during the shift, providing exposure to multiple warehouse and forklift operation duties over time.
Hourly pay rate between $19.50 and $20.50 for all hours worked in this forklift operator role on the scheduled shift.
Operate a stand-up forklift safely and efficiently in a freezer warehouse environment while following all established safety rules and procedures at all times.
Move, load, and unload pallets and materials using a stand-up forklift, ensuring accurate placement, secure stacking, and careful handling to avoid product damage.
Follow warehouse safety compliance procedures consistently, including correct use of personal protective equipment and adherence to traffic and equipment operation guidelines.
Handle and stack loads in racking and storage areas, maintaining stable pallet configurations and clear aisles to support safe and efficient warehouse operations.
Assist with inventory handling by moving products to designated locations, scanning or recording information when required, and supporting basic stock organization tasks.
Minimum of one year of stand-up forklift experience in a warehouse or similar environment, with consistent and recent operation of stand-up equipment on the job.
Strong communication skills to follow instructions, coordinate with supervisors and coworkers, and report issues or safety concerns clearly and promptly when they arise.
Proven forklift operation skills, including maneuvering in tight spaces, working in racking, and handling pallets safely in a cold storage warehouse setting.
Knowledge of warehouse safety compliance practices, including adherence to equipment rules, use of personal protective equipment, and awareness of hazards in a freezer environment.
Demonstrated load handling and stacking ability, with attention to secure pallets, correct stacking heights, and proper weight distribution to prevent product damage or safety issues.
Reliable attention to detail when moving and placing inventory, verifying locations, and following instructions to reduce errors in storage, handling, and basic inventory tasks.
$19.50 to $20.50 per hour
