Forklift Operator
As a Forklift Operator based on site in Romeoville, you will work full time operating stand-up forklifts in a warehouse environment handling food products. This temporary position offers the opportunity for permanent employment based on performance and business needs. You will work a consistent Monday through Friday schedule from 9:00 a.m. to 5:00 p.m., focusing on safe forklift operation, accurate inventory handling, and compliance with warehouse safety standards.
This role requires previous experience with stand-up forklifts, attention to detail around food product handling, and strong communication skills to coordinate effectively with warehouse team members.
Varied job activities with different warehouse tasks and responsibilities performed regularly throughout the workday.
Hourly pay rate of $19.50 with compensation provided for each hour worked on site.
Temporary contract with opportunity for permanent employment depending on performance and operational requirements over time.
Operate a stand-up forklift safely and efficiently during scheduled shifts while following all warehouse operating procedures and safety guidelines.
Handle and move food products carefully using forklifts and manual methods while maintaining product integrity and minimizing damage or contamination.
Load, unload, and stack pallets and materials in warehouse storage areas while following load handling and stacking standards at all times.
Follow warehouse safety compliance procedures consistently, including traffic rules, equipment checks, and safe work practices around coworkers.
Assist with inventory handling tasks such as relocating stock, staging orders, and maintaining orderly storage locations within assigned areas.
Minimum of one year of experience operating a stand-up forklift in a warehouse setting with consistent safe performance and incident-free operation.
Strong communication skills to coordinate tasks, follow directions, and report issues clearly to supervisors and team members.
Demonstrated knowledge of forklift operation procedures, including pre-use inspections, safe driving, and proper load handling techniques.
Understanding of warehouse safety compliance requirements, including safe equipment use, aisle awareness, and adherence to posted guidelines.
Ability to handle and stack loads accurately while paying close attention to pallet stability and safe placement practices.
Solid attention to detail when handling inventory, verifying product placement, and maintaining order in assigned warehouse areas.
$19.50 per hour
