The Role- To undertake electrical installation and maintain electronic and electrical systems. To install, inspect and test equipment, making sure that electrotechnical systems work. To find and fix faults.
- Diagnose malfunctioning systems, apparatus, and components, using test equipment and hand tools, to locate the cause of a breakdown and correct the problem.
- Assemble, install, test and maintain electrical wiring, equipment, appliances, apparatus and fixtures using hand tools, power tools and other specialist equipment.
- Training apprentice electricians.
- Ensure a high standard of safe working practice is maintained at all times.
- Ensure activities are carried out in an efficient and practical manner.
- Connect wires to circuit breakers, transformers, or other components.
- Inspect electrical systems, equipment, and components to identify hazards, defects, and the need for adjustment or repair, and ensure compliance with codes.
- Advise management on whether the continued operation of equipment could be hazardous.
- Test electrical systems and continuity of circuits using testing devices to ensure compatibility and safety of the system.
- Liaise with stakeholders and contractors to deliver a high-quality service and achieve customer satisfaction.
- Plan and organise daily work to ensure completion within the allocated time.
- Carry out survey reports as required.
- Maintain a high standard of customer service for all internal and external activities.
- Attend regular meetings and comply with Health & Safety policy and related risk assessments.
- Undertake tasks to ensure achievement of project goals and KPI targets.
Working hours will be Monday to Friday, 08:00 am to 17:00 pm, with flexibility as overtime may be required.
Qualifications And Experience- Level three Electrical Qualification
- Minimum three years’ experience working as an electrician
- Minimum one-year experience of working within the social housing sector
- 18th Edition Regs.
- 2391 Testing Certificate (Desirable)
- Asbestos awareness (Desirable)
- The ability to work carefully, methodically, and safely
- A head for heights and willingness to work in all sorts of weather
- A willingness to work in confined spaces
- A flexible approach
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills, including negotiation and persuasion
- Ability to follow technical drawings, building plans and wiring diagrams
- Strong analytical, numeracy and literacy skills
- Ability to prioritise workload and meet deadlines
- Ability to work as part of a team
- High integrity, discretion and diplomacy
- IT literate (Desirable)
- Must hold ECS or CSCS card
- Full clean driving licence
