• Valid Michigan Special Education Certification with SLD Endorsement preferred (EI, ASD or CI endorsements would be considered) .
• Mustmeetthe Elementary and Secondary Education /Every Student Succeeds Act .
• Two(2) yearsteachingexperience preferred.
• Awarenessofthephysical,social,emotionalandmentaldevelopmentofthe learner.
• Proficientandknowledgeableinthesubjectarea.
• Abilitytoworkeffectivelyandcollaborativelywithstudents,parentsandstaff.
• Strongcommunicationandorganizationalskills.
• Knowledge of dataandhowitisusedtoinforminstruction.

Proficientwithtechnologyasaninstructionaltool.

• DetermineinstructionalneedsofstudentsbasedonIEPassessmentdataanddistrict curriculum.
• Providedirectand/orsupplementalinstructiontostudents.
• Ability to evaluate students' current levels of academic performance using district standard for
  
  Special Education Testing (NWEA) andassessmentdataofprogress towards IEP goals and the curriculum.
• Serve/participate on
  
  Multi-Disciplinary Team.
• Abilitytomanagestudentbehaviortomaximizeengagementinlearning.
• Abilitytoapplyknowledgeof Co-teachingandPBISbestpracticestomeetstudent needs.
• Monitorprogressandaccommodatecurriculumtosupportacademicachievement.
• Abilitytocoordinatewithgeneraleducationteachers,parents,andbuildingstaffto facilitate student progress and growth.
• AbilitytofacilitateparentmeetingssuchasparentteacherconferencesandIEPs.
• Abilitytoeffectivelycommunicatewithstudentsandparentsregardingstudents'goals and progress.
• Abilitytocoordinateandplanclassroomactivitieswithgeneraleducationstafftomeet curriculum expectations and IEP goals.
• Performotherdutiesasassigned.
