Common Responsibilities
  • Update/maintain the Control Plan for the assigned workflows.
  • Primary contact source with customer/supplier representatives, maintain positive communication and relationship, support and attend meetings, reviews and audits.
  • Ensures that the quality system is maintained in accordance with the YF iOS standards.
  • Facilitate problem solving teams and respond to customer discrepancy notices.
  • Verify corrective actions and prepare problem solving customer correspondence related to quality concerns or issues.
  • Participate in internal and external quality audits, and report to management on quality issues, trends and losses.
  • Establish process controls, assist in training of new projects and buy-off on new/modified equipment and processes.
  • Participate in work groups (e.g., FMEA, PSMC, etc.). Support the risk and failure analysis (PFMEA) reviews
  • Performs root cause analysis of technical quality problems, with support of a cross functional team.
  • Support quality/dimensional control systems (i.e., X&R charts, gage studies, Six Sigma, dimensional capability studies).
  • Strong working knowledge of APQP tools (e.g., Process Flow, PFMEA, Control Plan, PPAP, MSA, SPC, etc.)
  • Program CMM's using PCDMIS CMM Software.
  • Develop reports using Datapage / Dataview Statistical Software and or MS Excel.
  • Perform CMM layouts / studies for pre and post launch activities.
  • Perform Gage Layouts
  • Maintain inspection and calibration records
Qualifications (General/EHS/Quality)
  • Knowledge of statistical concepts, design of experiments and problem solving methodology is required. Six Sigma certification or equivalent experience is required. Black Belt certification and experience with Minitab software is highly desirable.
  • Knowledge and experience in Lean Manufacturing methods is highly desirable.
  • Proficient in use of a computer and common office software (i.e. Word, Excel, and PowerPoint).
  • Strong interpersonal and communication skills, including ability to work in a self-directed environment.
  • Good mechanical/technical skills and ability to read engineering drawings are desirable. GD&T proficiency is highly desirable.
  • Excellent problem solving skills, including experience preparing problem solving documents such as 8D's.
  • Quality Mgmt. System (e.g. IATF
    16949) – Apply to Management team (Manager and above), Quality Professionals and Quality personnel (eg. AME, ME, PE etc.).
  • Internal auditor*(Incl. System, process and product auditor) – Apply to BOS Auditor*, Process Auditor
    * and Product Auditor*
  • Colour/Appearance Evaluation – Apply to Colour Evaluation personal (e.g. Appearance Engineer, Operator, Inspector, etc.)
  • Product Safety – Apply to Product safety personnel (e.g. Safety Parts Engineer, Buyer, Operator, Inspector etc.)
Education
  • Bachelor's degree in Quality, Engineering, or Science related field with 1-3 years of related work experience.
  • American Society for Quality certification, such as current CQE status, is highly desirable.
Work Experience
  • Experience with ISO/IATF 16949 Quality Systems is required. Lead Auditor certification is highly desirable.
  • Experience in Advanced Quality Planning including strong proficiency with the AIAG Advanced Quality Planning and Control Plan, FMEAs, PPAPs, MSA and Statistical Process Control (SPC) standards.
  • Experience working directly with customers and suppliers, particularly automotive related.
Regional Requirement

This position is located at a manufacturing/plant facility. Travel to customer, other Company manufacturing sites, Company corporate sites, and supplier sites will be involved. This position may require work with potentially hazardous products in a controlled, safe environment.
