Position Summary

SEKO Logistics is seeking an experienced Customs Brokerage Agent to join our Customs Brokerage team. The ideal candidate will have hands-on experience with U.S. Customs brokerage operations and a strong understanding of the import entry process, U.S. Customs regulations, tariff classification, and documentation requirements.

This is a primarily in-office position designed for someone who values collaboration and being part of an experienced Customs brokerage team. The position also offers hybrid work flexibility as a benefit, based on business needs, performance, and departmental requirements.

A U.S. Customs Broker License is preferred but not required. Candidates must have prior Customs brokerage experience.

Key Responsibilities
  • Prepare, review, and transmit U.S. Customs entries accurately and timely in accordance with CBP requirements and client instructions.
  • Review commercial invoices, packing lists, bills of lading/air waybills, certificates of origin, arrival notices, and other supporting documentation for accuracy and completeness.
  • Determine and verify HTS classifications, duty rates, country of origin, trade program eligibility, and applicable Chapter 99 tariff requirements.
  • Calculate duties, taxes, and fees associated with imported merchandise.
  • Monitor Customs entries and shipments through release and resolve holds, rejects, documentation issues, and other clearance exceptions.
  • Communicate with U.S. Customs and Border Protection (CBP), Partner Government Agencies (PGAs), carriers, customers, and internal operations teams to facilitate timely clearance.
  • Research and respond to Customs inquiries, including Requests for Information (CF-28), Notices of Action (CF-29), and other CBP correspondence as appropriate.
