Position:Inventory Supervisor
The Inventory Supervisor Allocator is responsible for maintaining an adequate level of product inventory to meet customer requests and oversee daily activities of the Inventory Al locators. The position will take steps to reduce unnecessary waste of resources and act as a support to the Warehouse Manager to ensure that the departmental and company objectives are consistently met.
Responsibilities- Provide leadership to the inventory team with respect to performance management, scheduling, employee relations, awareness of business context/profitability as well as training and development.
- Ensure delivery of the inventory team's goals and objectives by establishing clearly defined inventory tracking methods for staff members to apply, plan, assign and supervise day‑to‑day tasks.
- Oversee produce inventory control, processing of customer orders and keep stock control systems up to date; prepare and update customer paperwork and ensure accuracy of produce inventory.
- Initiate and promote the development of inventory related processes, root cause analysis and improve efficiency in product delivery times.
- Create reports based on production and operation data and workforce hours and overtime; analyze and make recommendations for improvement.
- Liaise with commodities, sales shipping, production, receiving and food safety departments with respect to inventory variations for inbound and outbound product; investigate and take corrective action when necessary.
- Motivate, organize and encourage teamwork within the workforce to ensure productivity, quality, delivery and budget objectives are met.
- Train staff and monitor employee performance and progress.
- Ensure the health, safety and cleanliness of the work environment.
- High school diploma or equivalent required; post‑secondary education in quality assurance, food safety or related discipline preferred.
- Minimum two years of inventory management or quality assurance experience; produce industry preferred.
- Proven understanding of Good Manufacturing Practices, Health & Safety, Food Safety and HACCP principles and the Primus
GFS program. - Proficiency in Microsoft Office (Outlook, Word, Excel), ERP software, FAMOUS® preferred.
- Strong knowledge of legislative requirements to maintain compliance with all relevant statutes and guiding principles.
- Proven ability to lead and motivate a team.
- Excellent analytical, time‑management and organizational skills.
- Self‑motivated with the ability to work independently and in a team.
- Ability to work in a high‑stress, fast‑paced environment; strong attention to detail.
- Hours of work may vary depending on business needs; flexibility is required.
- This job operates in a clerical office setting, in a refrigerated warehouse, where temperatures range from 45‑55°F.
- The noise level in the work environment can be loud due to packaging machinery and forklift truck operation.
- Role routinely uses standard office equipment such as computers, phones, photocopiers, filing cabinets and fax machines.
- Role frequently requires the ability to stand, walk, bend, twist, use hands to handle or feel product or packaging, and reach with hands and arms.
- The position requires the ability to regularly lift 30‑pounds, occasionally up to 50‑pounds.
