The hotel security guard ensures the safety of guests, staff, and property by patrolling premises, monitoring CCTV, controlling access, and responding to emergencies. They act as the frontline of safety, providing a secure, welcoming environment, enforcing policies, managing incidents, and assisting with guest inquiries.

• Patrolling & Surveillance: Conduct regular foot patrols of the interior/exterior, including parking lots, hallways, and restricted areas to prevent theft, violence, or infractions.
• Access Control: Monitor building entrances and exits to ensure only authorized individuals enter, particularly in guest-only areas or during late hours.
• Emergency Response: Act as first responders to safety situations, such as fire alarms, medical emergencies, or security breaches, including conducting evacuations if necessary.
• Guest Services & Safety: Assist with guest disturbances, escort guests to rooms if needed, handle lost items, and provide a visible, reassuring presence in public areas.
• Monitoring Systems: Watch surveillance cameras (CCTV) in the command center to identify suspicious activity or unauthorized access.
• Reporting & Documentation: Maintain detailed, accurate daily security logs and incident reports.
• Conflict Resolution: Manage and de-escalate situations, such as intoxicated guests or unruly individuals, and, when necessary, remove or apprehend trespassers.

• High school diploma or equivalent.
• State-mandated security guard license/guard card.
• First Aid/CPR/AED certification is often required.
• Strong communication and customer service skills.
• Ability to remain calm under pressure and make quick decisions.
