Plumber, Maintenance Technician / Mechanic
We are seeking a Master Plumber to serve as the technical expert and hands-on leader for all plumbing work within our modular manufacturing facility. In this role, you will supervise a team of plumbers and plumbing technicians, ensuring high-quality installation, code compliance, and efficient production across all modules. You will set daily priorities, support skill development, and maintain a safe, organized, and high-performing work environment.
Key Responsibilities:
- Directs and assigns tasks to plumbing staff in alignment with production plans, safety standards, and timelines
- Reviews work orders and drawings using Offsight; collaborates on problem-solving and provides training and feedback
- Estimates material, tool, and equipment needs for plumbing jobs
- Installs, repairs, and inspects plumbing systems and fixtures in modular units and facility
- Ensures code compliance and responds to plumbing emergencies
- Operates, maintains, and reports on tools and equipment to ensure safety and performance
- Verifies quality and accuracy of completed work
- Interprets blueprints and layouts to prepare materials
- Follows all safety protocols and company procedures
Primary Work Location: Romulus, Michigan
Requirements:
High School Diploma or related field, completion of a formal apprenticeship program required, associate's degree preferred.
At least three years' experience as a licensed plumber and previous experience working with diverse populations preferred.
Master Plumbing license required.
- Demonstrated ability to understand directions and read blueprints / shop drawings.
- Extensive knowledge of plumbing systems and drainage.
- Proficient in the use of test meters and other diagnostic equipment.
- Knowledge of building codes, safety regulations, and safety practices
- Familiarity with PVC, CPVC, PEX, cast iron, and copper pipe materials
- Demonstrated ability to perform basic arithmetic, solve mathematical problems, and conversion of measurements quickly and accurately.
- Proficient in use of hand tools and trade tools.
- Demonstrated ability to work within a team and independently.
- Ability to travel locally and regionally to attend meetings, visit sites, conferences, etc. as required.
