Job Summary
The Manufacturing Engineer 2 is responsible for the breakdown and definition of the labor effort required in accordance with Engineering and Quality Assurance specifications.
Essential Functions
- Compute cost estimates for new designs, and new customer designs, including established designs to reflect current goals and cost.
- Prepare detailed plan-schedule, estimates, and requisitions for special tooling and/or test equipment needed to manufacture and/or assemble parts to engineering requirements.
- Design and prepare tooling drawings such as drill, milling and assembly fixtures, punch and dies, etc. Prepare operation sheets for building assemblies.
- Make sketches as required to clarify fabricating or processing of parts, tools, or assemblies.
- Investigate shop problems with tools, parts or assemblies and applies the necessary corrective action with the affected work center.
- Coordinate with Engineering in the development of cost effectiveness and feasibility of new designs, as well as manufacturing and assembly methods.
- Incorporate engineering change orders to operation sheets.
- Liaison between manufacturing vendors and Purchasing Department.
- Prepare statements of work authorizing and guiding subcontractors in the fabrication of parts.
- Interface with subcontractors/customers in resolving manufacturing or drawing interpretation problems.
- Create and enter the Bill of Material and material code numbers in the Material Requirements Planning (MRP) system.
- Perform programming requirements for numerically controlled machines.
Qualifications/Minimum requirements
- Must be a U.S. Citizen.
- Ability to read, write and speak English proficiently.
- High School Diploma, GED or Industry experience preferred.
- Ability to work independently or in a group setting.
Salary Range: $70k to $90k annually. This estimated range represents a good faith projection of what we believe is a competitive compensation range for this position. Please understand that the offered salary will be determined based on factors such as the applicant's credentials, experiences, and the specific requirements of the role, as well as potential internal equity and external market considerations.
We do not customarily hire at the top end of the range. East/West adheres to pay transparency and equity principles and strives to remain competitive within the market.
