Your day-to-day work will center on end-to-end hardware ownership. You will take a product from initial requirements and architecture all the way through qualification, production, and field support. That includes designing analog and digital circuits, running simulations, performing worst-case and reliability analyses, and troubleshooting legacy designs. You will also create the design documentation and present your work at formal technical reviews.

Because you will work closely with manufacturing and suppliers, your ability to solve real-world production issues will be just as important as your design creativity.

The engineer who thrives here brings more than a checklist of tools. We need someone who has rounded experience in power electronics, knows how to lay out a high-voltage board that passes MIL-STD-461 the first time, and can discuss the tradeoffs between SiC and GaN for a DC/DC converter. You should be comfortable mentoring junior engineers and contributing to proposals and cost estimates.

A B.S. in Electrical Engineering is the foundation, 7-plus years of relevant experience is typical, and an M.S. is a plus. If you also bring motor control and control theory knowledge, you will have even more ways to make an impact.

• A Bachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering is required
• You must have at least seven years of professional experience in analog and digital circuit design, including A/D conversion, processors, microcontrollers, I/O, and communications
• Deep expertise in power electronics—with MOSFET, IGBT, SiC, and GaN devices—is essential
• You need proven experience with DC/DC converters and a strong working knowledge of MIL-STD-1275/704, DO-160, and MIL-STD-461 compliance
• You must be skilled in performing thermal, electrical stress, worst-case, tolerance, aging, FMEA, EMI, and radiation analyses
• Proficiency with multiple communication protocols such as CAN, RS-232/422/485, SPI, JTAG, PCI/PCIe, and 1G/10G Ethernet is expected
• You must be able to work onsite in Ronkonkoma, New York, on a daily basis
