Key Performance Areas

Core, essential responsibilities / outputs of the position (KPA's)

  • Engage with key stakeholders to identify, develop and drive the network managed services operational model (as well as procedures & processes) for the MTN business to ensure alignment and standardisation across the organisation (as well as alignment to industry best practice).
  • Ensure the development and enhancement of operational models for network operation in all OPCOs considerations in line with changing business requirements and technology changes.
  • Monitor Network performance to ensure network quality standards are adhered to as per the Service Level Agreements and provide improvement initiatives or corrective action as and when required.
  • Develop and implement a managed services governance framework and ensure the adherence thereof for both internal and external (vendors/partners) stakeholders.
  • Support the transition and successfully hand over the new improvement programmes for both inhouse and exist Managed Services in a timely manner for every OPCO and ensure performance is tracked against set standards for Network/TX/IP performance.
  • Define Managed Services KPIs to Manage vendors to ensure performance standards and MTN policies are adhered to as per the Service Level Agreements and provide related reports monthly basis.
  • Ensure all required maintenance routines are tracked and performed as per Service Level Agreements in a standard model then provide a proper reporting tool and channel to have the reports monthly/weekly.
  • Oversee the design of communication and training strategies in relation to Network Operations, including identifying the appropriate learning process, timing, execution, as well as deliver on those communication and training strategies when required.
  • Continually monitor and manage (where required) network related issues. Facilitate and directly drive critical issue resolution and eliminate roadblocks with respect to Network Operations. Serve as the key escalation point for all critical issues and initiatives.
  • Oversee audits and control processes of Network managed services across the business. Ensure that this is standardised and appropriate supporting systems are in place.
  • Assist in the development and distribution of standardised network performance monitoring procedures for MTN OPCOs.
  • Identify Managed Services and operational gaps impacting network performance across markets, and develop a comprehensive improvement plan with clear progress tracking.
  • Provide on-site support, where required, to enhance network performance, improve vendor service delivery, and strengthen vendor governance.
