BUSINESS INSTRUCTOR

Umpqua Community College is seeking a Full-Time Business Instructor who is passionate about teaching, experienced in real-world business practices, and committed to preparing students for today's dynamic economy. Commensurate with State of Oregon requirements of respective academic and/or technical field.

Required Qualifications

* Bachelor's degree in Business Administration, Business Management, or a closely related field from a regionally accredited institution; willingness to obtain additional graduate-level business credits as required.

* Minimum of three years of recent teaching, training, or related professional experience with demonstrated instructional effectiveness in business-related subjects, such as accounting, management, marketing, finance, personal finance, or introductory business.

* Three or more years of relevant industry experience in a business-related field (e.g., management, marketing, finance, accounting, retail, or a closely related area).

* Innovative, collaborative, and student-centered approach to teaching and program development.

* Strong communication and interpersonal skills with the ability to work effectively in team-based environments.

* Proficiency with computer technology, including Microsoft Office, and the ability to effectively use or quickly learn a learning management system (Canvas).

* Ability to work on campus during a standard Monday-Friday schedule.

Preferred Qualifications

* Master's degree in Business Administration.

* Community college teaching experience in business and accounting.

* Experience developing and teaching online courses using Canvas.

* Experience with academic or program development in a community college setting or demonstrated industry partnerships supporting program growth.

* Familiarity with online course quality standards such as Quality Matters.

* Experience with business software applications and administrative or leadership roles in business or higher education.
