ETS/UB High School Tutor (Pool)
Position is a pooled role reviewed on an ongoing basis. Applicants are placed in a pool and contacted as needed. This position supports students in the ETS/UB programs, focusing on math, science, and Spanish. Sessions are primarily after‑school at seven high schools in Douglas County.
Responsibilities- Assist individual ETS/UB students in understanding subject material and study skills needed to maintain satisfactory academic standing.
- Provide tutoring in math, science or Spanish, as requested by the Educational Talent Search and Upward Bound Programs.
- Conduct tutoring sessions at Roseburg, Douglas, Riddle, Sutherlin, Glide, Oakland and South Umpqua High Schools.
- Work collaboratively with program staff to determine student needs and schedule sessions.
- Transcript of B or higher grade in the course assigned, or teacher referral if currently enrolled in the course to be tutored.
- Math and science tutors may be allowed to tutor lower levels of the course(s) for which they have been approved, on a case‑by‑case basis.
- Applicants holding a bachelor’s or master’s degree will be evaluated by the ETS/UB Advisor on a case‑by‑case basis.
- Native speakers of foreign languages will be considered with recommendation.
