The Adult Basic Skills Instructor position is a Pooled Position and applications will be reviewed on an ongoing, as‑needed basis.

As the Faculty Part‑Time Adult Basic Skills Instructor, you will help students improve their reading, math, science, and social studies skills through one‑on‑one support and small‑group teaching. The goal is to help students pass the GED test, enroll in higher education, or advance in their career. The applicant pool may be used to fill vacant positions or substitute teacher positions. The position could be located at the college main campus, South County campus, Woolley Center, or Wolf Creek Job Corps.
Umpqua Community College is located in beautiful Southern Oregon between the mountains of the Cascade Range to the east and the Coastal Range to the west. The town is surrounded by the Umpqua River and offers nearby hiking, biking, camping, skiing, wineries and breweries. Roseburg provides a small‑town feel with easy access to Portland and Eugene.
QUALIFICATIONS- Bachelor’s degree in Education, or related to one of the GED topics:
Language Arts, Science, Math, or Social Studies. - Experience in an instructional setting such as teaching or tutoring.
- Master’s degree in Education, or related field.
- Experience working with students from diverse backgrounds.
- Previous Adult Basic Skills experience.
