STEM INSTRUCTOR (POOL) – Part-Time Faculty
The position of Part-Time STEM Instructor is a pooled position. Applications will be reviewed on an as needed, ongoing basis.
Qualified instructors are needed in General Biology, Chemistry, and Nutrition to support increased enrollment. Candidates should have a strong passion for helping community college students reach their educational goals.
Responsibilities- Teach courses in assigned subject areas.
- Develop and update course materials and assessments.
- Grade assignments and provide feedback.
- Support student learning through advising and office hours.
- Engage in collegial service and professional development.
- Commensurate with State of Oregon requirements:
- CTE faculty: associate degree and at least 3 years of experience (bachelor’s preferred).
- General Education faculty: master’s degree in the discipline or equivalent.
- A minimum of 3 years community college teaching experience (preferred).
- A minimum of five years of verifiable experience related to the field.
- Online instruction experience preferred; classroom teaching experience desirable.
Applicants may use Veterans’ Preference according to ORS 408.225, 408.230, 408.235, and OAR 105‑040‑0010/105‑040‑0015. Preference is granted only if the applicant meets the minimum criteria and provides required documentation at application time.
Required documents for Veterans:
- Member Copy 4 of Certificate of Release or Discharge from Active Duty (DD Form 214 or 215)
- Letter from the US Department of Veterans’ Affairs indicating receipt of a non‑service connected pension.
- Disabled Veterans must submit a copy of Veterans disability preference letter from the Department of Veterans Affairs.
