Job Description & How to Apply Below

Join UCAN as an Ameri Corps Head Start Parent Volunteer Coordinator and help parents become more engaged in their child’s education. At UCAN, we're committed to early childhood development and supporting parents in becoming more connected and informed. However, without meaningful opportunities to engage parents in their child’s education, it is easy for them to feel disconnected from that growth process.

Our goal is to build a robust parent volunteer program within our Head Start programs and provide parents with hands on opportunities in classrooms. This will not only improve the bond to their child’s education, but it will also build transferable skills that can help them achieve their own career goals. As the Ameri Corps Head Start Parent Volunteer Coordinator, you'll play a pivotal role in UCAN's Early Learning programs by recruiting and supporting parent volunteers.

Serving within this project will require a passion for early childhood education and engaging families of all backgrounds. You will frequently be conducting outreach to recruit parents and support them throughout the volunteer process. This position will also be serving children directly through assisting in classrooms to better inform the support you’ll provide parent volunteers. Furthermore, you will be responsible for expanding the volunteer training program and exploring new ways to connect parents with professional development opportunities.

Your service project will be key in supporting parents in building a foundation for their children to succeed later in life.
