Program Coordinator – Community Education & Special Programs

Umpqua Community College is looking for a creative, self-directed Program Coordinator to develop and bring educational and workforce opportunities to life. From community classes and youth programs to customized workforce training, conferences, and special events, you'll turn ideas into programs that make a difference.

Examples Of Duties
  • Develop, schedule, price, promote, and coordinate non-credit courses, trainings, conferences, camps, and special events.
  • Identify community, employer, and workforce training needs and develop programs in response.
  • Develop customized, contracted, and grant-funded training opportunities.
  • Coordinate instructors, facilities, equipment, supplies, registration, and program logistics.
  • Manage programs from initial development through completion and evaluate enrollment, revenue, participant satisfaction, and outcomes.
  • Coordinate specialized programs, including Wildland Fire training, as assigned.
  • Build and maintain relationships with businesses, employers, agencies, instructors, and community organizations.
  • Conduct outreach to identify training needs and develop new partnerships and program opportunities.
  • Provide customer service and guidance to students, families, instructors, and community partners.
  • Recruit, onboard, and support non-credit instructors as assigned.
  • Represent UCC at community events, meetings, advisory committees, and other outreach activities.
  • Maintain accurate program, student, instructor, financial, and registration records.
  • Prepare reports and documentation for grants, contracts, audits, certifications, and College requirements.
  • Monitor program budgets, enrollment, revenue, expenses, and deliverables.
  • Follow UCC policies, procedures, safety requirements, and applicable regulations.
Knowledge, Skills, And Abilities
  • Program development, coordination, scheduling, pricing, and evaluation.
  • Strong organization and ability to manage multiple projects and deadlines.
  • Relationship-building, outreach, and effective communication.
  • Ability to identify needs and develop creative educational and workforce solutions.
  • Budget, financial tracking, and program sustainability.
  • Grant, contract, and program documentation.
  • Ability to work independently, take initiative, and follow projects through completion.
  • Proficiency with registration, scheduling, financial, communication, and other technology systems.
  • Ability to travel within the UCC service district and work occasional evenings and weekends.
Qualifications

Required

  • Associate degree in Education, Business, Human Services, Recreation, or related field.
  • Three years of experience coordinating and/or developing educational classes, trainings, events, conferences, camps, or related programs.
  • Ability to work occasional evening and weekend hours.
  • Valid driver's license and maintain eligibility for coverage under UCC's vehicle insurance policy.

Preferred

  • Experience in community education, workforce training, youth programs, camps, conferences, or professional development.
  • Experience developing business, employer, agency, or community partnerships.
  • Experience with grant-funded, contracted, or customized training programs.
  • Experience conducting needs assessments and developing programs based on community or workforce needs.
