Job Description
American Traveler is hiring a Cath Lab Technologist with at least 2 years of experience, Oregon license, and current BLS and RT certification for a 13-week assignment.
Responsibilities- Work in a cardiac catheterization lab with 3 suites in an acute care setting
- Treats adult patients with PCI, diagnostic cath, device implants, peripheral and IR cases, and IVC filters
- Average caseload is 5-10 cases per day
- Primary responsibilities include scrubbing all cases tableside; may also function as circulator and manage access sites
- Procedures involve coronary angiograms/interventions, STEMI, thrombectomies, IR cases, device implants, atherectomy, Impella, and IABP
- Uses MEDITECH EMR and McKesson/GE equipment
- Day shifts are 4x10s from 7:00 AM to 4:30 PM or 5x8s from 8:30 AM to 5:00 PM
- On-call required every 4th day and every 3rd or 4th weekend; night call 1–2 times per week
- 20-minute call response time
- No floating required
- Scrubbing all assigned cases tableside with the physician is the primary duty; may circulate as needed
- IR procedures are performed within the cath lab
- Scrubs are supplied by the department
- Orientation is provided by peers and special procedure techs
- Radiation badge is required but not provided
- Must cover one major holiday and one holiday weekend per year
- Previous employees of this health system within the last 12 months are not eligible
- Minimum 2 years of recent Cath Lab Technologist experience
- Current Oregon license required (license required if applicable)
- Active BLS (AHA) and RT certification required
- RCIS accepted in lieu of ARRT (CI) or (CV)
- Experience with all access site management (groin/radial/drains) and operation of atherectomy devices
- Proficiency with Impella and IABP
- Ability to set up sterile tables and scrub for a wide range of cath and IR procedures
- Must provide two professional references, including one supervisor reference from the last 12 months and one peer or supervisor reference from the last 3 years
- Copy of driver’s license required for consideration
