Fundraising Director

This position will initiate and lead a comprehensive fundraising program for securing financial support from individuals, corporations, and foundations to fund the Club mission and meet organizational goals.

Responsibilities

DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • In conjunction with the Executive Director and the Board of Directors creates and executes a comprehensive resource development plan that meets the organizational goals for current and future sustainability.
  • Works with Club staff and board members to identify, cultivate, and successfully solicit gifts from individuals including annual campaigns, capital campaigns and planned giving.
  • Along with Club staff and board members identifies corporations to cultivate and successfully solicit gifts and sponsor ships for the Club and for Club events.
  • Plans and coordinates cultivation and stewardship activities, including Club tours, volunteer projects and sponsorship fulfillment.
  • Creates and implements successful cultivation plans for next generation donors.
  • Develops and implements a successful planned giving program. Works to ensure that the program becomes an integral part of the overall resource development effort for the Club.
  • Researches and analyzes agency, corporate, individual and foundations donor base and recommends solicitation strategies.
  • Assists the Executive Director and the Board of Directors in identifying, recruiting, and training board members to participate in solicitation and other resource development activities and encourages and supports the planning and implementation of resource development activities.
  • Oversees and manages all aspects of gift campaigns including annual fundraising (individual and corporate), planned giving and capital campaign gifts.
  • Works with the Resource Development Committee and all board members to develop a prospective planned giving pool and develop and implement successful strategies for solicitation of planned gifts.
  • Liaisons with the Marketing Committee and the Director of Marketing and Events to develop and implement strategies for successful annual events that develop, attract, and retain donors.
  • Prepares ongoing updates and productivity reports for management and the Board of Directors. Remains fully accountable for reaching activity and productivity target goals.
  • Establishes and monitors policies and procedures for gift solicitation and acceptance, recording and reporting of gifts.
  • Establishes relationships and maintains frequent contact with estate planning attorneys, financial planners, and insurance agents to remain knowledgeable about planned gifts, market the Club's planned gift program and to discuss donor interests and appropriate giving methods.
  • Serves as a strong external representative for the Club, engaging regularly with contacts to develop new opportunities and to grow and steward existing relationships.
  • Schedules and conducts regular face-to-face visits with current and potential major donations, and planned gift donors and prospects.
  • Manages recordkeeping for all fundraising, cultivation, and stewardship activities, assuring effective administration and operational support functions are in place.
  • Participates in research and identification of foundations for development and maintenance of grant funding.
  • Assists the Marketing and Events Director to increase the visibility of the Club and resource development activities.
  • Participates in design and development of public relations materials for use in the promotion of fund raising, and education of the public.
  • Completes other assignments given by the Executive Director.
Qualifications
  • Minimum Qualifications:

    • A bachelor's degree from an accredited college or university in a related field, or equivalent work experience.
    • Combined experience and / or formal training equivalent to a minimum of three years fundraising.
    • Demonstrated a successful track record of creating a culture of philanthropy including individual donations, corporate sponsor ships and gifts, annual campaigns, planned giving and capital campaigns.
    • Outstanding oral and written communications skills, interpersonal skills, and attention to detail.
